Artist statement

Queer Joy PhotoVoice is a project that brought together people from different generations to explore their queer joy through photography and writing. Participants used images and written pieces to reflect on their lived experiences as people with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities, including moments of joy as well as the barriers that can limit that joy. The photographs and texts in this exhibit offer personal perspectives on what queer joy can look like and the realities that influence how it is experienced.

About Chroma NB:
Chroma: Pride, Inclusion, Equality Inc. is a community-based charity dedicated to creating safer, more inclusive spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ people in Southwest New Brunswick. Chroma promotes positive initiatives for the community and conducts research to highlight gaps in services and policy to encourage positive change.
