Biography

Born and raised in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Sandra has lived in Newtown, N.B., for over 50 years. Over the years she has pursued various creative avenues, including pottery, painting, quilting and felting. Sandra has exhibited quilts at the Moncton Quilt Show for over three decades. She was drawn to felting 10 years ago, and it has become her primary artistic outlet ever since. Drawn to the limitless possibilities of wool, she has developed a distinct style. Her work, known for its texture and detail, includes a piece permanently housed at the Hubbard’s Rug Hooking Museum in Nova Scotia.  Sandra loves to encourage others to try felting, and is happy to share all the felting tricks she has learned over the years.  Recently she taught a felting course to eager students at a retreat, and now others are enjoying this relaxing and forgiving form of art.
